Boxing Weight Categories Announced for Paris 2024 Olympics

Increased Gender Equality and New Weight Class for Women

A total of 13 weight categories will be contested in Boxing at the Olympic Games Paris 2024, in line with the IOC's aim of reaching full gender equality.

Women's Weight Categories Expanded

For women competing in Paris 2024, there will be six weight categories, one more than in Tokyo. The women's events have been bolstered by the addition of a bantamweight division, with the featherweight limit dropped slightly.

Men's and Women's Weight Categories

There are 13 weight categories at the Games: seven for men (51kg, 57kg, 63.5kg, 71kg, 80kg, 92kg, and 92kg+) and six for women (51kg, 57kg, 63.5kg, 71kg, 80kg, and 92kg+).
