Tigers Finally Call Up Top Prospect Riley Greene

Tigers Designate Renato Nunez For Assignment

The Tigers have designated Renato Nunez for assignment. Nunez was acquired by the Tigers in a trade with the Baltimore Orioles in August 2020. He has been a disappointment for the Tigers, batting just .233 with 10 home runs and 40 RBIs in 159 games.

The Tigers are hoping to clear a roster spot for Greene by designating Nunez for assignment. Nunez has one year remaining on his contract. He is owed $5 million in 2022.

Tigers Place Wily Peralta On Injured List
